Knee Update
I woke up today and the knee was feeling okay. No pain at all getting ready for work. It is a little tender to the touch on the spot I marked in my previous post. No real pain walking. Going down the stairs at work I can feel it a little. I really wish I had one more day to recoup. I think I could make the run. But I don’t have any extra days.
So I see a couple of scenarios taking place…
A. I run the race and it hurts too bad to keep running. I look like a complete poser having to walk watching old fat people pass me. Or worse exit off the run defeated.
B. I run the race in some discomfort not being able to do it as fast as I would like and causing more damage. Thus putting me out of commission for 2 weeks or more recovering.
C. I don’t run at all and watch my family and friends do it. Thus making me feel like crap and I worried that everyone thinks I am a wimp.
Post a comment and tell me what you think I will end up doing. Look for an update by Saturday night.

Blogging geek Dad that loves to do long runs, ride his bikes, partake in frosty beverages, listen to live music, watch movies, hike high into the mountains, and hang out with his family doing any of the above. Oh, and write code late into the wee hours of the morning.
Go to the Doctor. Have him tell you what is really wrong with your knee. Make an informed decision about running tomorrow. Feel good about your decision.
Too proud not to run I think. I see a train wreck coming!
Don’t be an idiot – save your knee. There will be more races, my friend.
Option A big guy … even the greats pull off the course if it doesn’t feel right. Lose the battle, win the war ya know!. The doctor advice is pretty good too! See if you can get a referral to either Lynn Lindaman (surgery kinda guy) or Carlson (forget his first name, is more of a physio kinda guy, who I have also seen and really like if the knife isn’t necessary)
