Boutique Overalls
I bought Terra a sewing machine a few weeks ago. She had been talking about one for a while so I decided to surprise her one night. Noah and I went and picked it up. But I bought it at the wrong place so I screwed that part up. She took it back and got it from the place that gives free sewing lesson if you buy the machine from them. So all she does now is sew. Well, that is not really true but it sure seems like it.
The main reason she wanted one was to make boutique overalls for Ella and Lili and a few other people. But the boutique overalls sell on eBay for ungodly amounts. Basically people create these fancy designs from old used overalls. They sell between $30 and $200 dollars on eBay. You can buy the overalls at any second hand store for about $5. So that is a pretty good return on your money if you can learn to make them and have the special machine to sew the stitching.
So Terra has been experimenting and doing a bang-up job. She created her first few for friends and now just listed one on eBay to see what it goes for. The overalls cost her $4.95 at a kids second hand store. I am not sure how many hours she put into them but she is getting faster with each creation.
So without further ado here are the first few she has created.
The reason these sell for so much is that every one is custom made with a custom design. People can also request themes. She listed one on eBay this week and immediately two people in West Des Moines asked for two custom designs.
I am in the process of setting up a website for her. When I get her site up I will post it back on the blog.

The other reason they sell for so much is because the models are ADORABLE and do a great job of showing off the product
I have about 10 pairs of worn out adult bibs, can you trick some for me? I would like a Right Said Fred (the band) theme.
That would be a riot! But what the heck are you doing with 10 pairs of adult bibs. That is the real question.
Jason I would totally peg you as more of a Barney fan….
Would you do a pair of adult overalls for me?? How much would you charge if I furnished the bibs??
Thanks
I will have my wife contact you about the overalls. She can create adult overalls. It is just more materials is all. Sending her your own overalls is best since you know they will fit. Look for an email from her in the next few days.
I am trying to find a cute pair of Barney overalls for my little girls 2nd Birthday. I want something “toned down” Barney. Maybe a barney applique on the chest and a number 2 or something of that nature and purple and green colored fabric around the bottoms and maybe on the back pockets. If you have any suggestions you could do please let me know?
