First Snow
We are getting our first snow this morning. They said two inches but I bet we have 4 and it is still coming down. Here is a shot out the front door.
The satellite guy called this morning before the snow started and postponed until this afternoon. He said he had three A.M. installations. That really pissed me off. Now the doesn’t look like it will happen today with all the snow. I am this close to canceling DirectTV before I even get it and keeping cable. I am glad I did not cancel the cable yet or it would have been no HDTV until next week probably other than local stations.

That is the most irritating thing about DirectTV. We had them put a new dish up and install a new HD DVR Receiver about a month ago and they were supposed to be there between 8 & 12, and came about 1:30…. who schedules these guys, don’t they know we have stuff to do to?!?! I wish that we could ‘charge’ service providers (cable guy, doctor’s offices, etc) when they are running late and don’t give you a 24 hour notice. I will say that football (and I don’t even like football) is pretty incredible in HD.
Yes, I don’t really like football either but I do watch it because the picture is so good. I only wish they had the Fox Soccer channel in HD.
But about the installation, I signed up for AM and took off work today for it. They called and told me they had 3 scheduled for this morning. That is crap. Next time I schedule it and they are not here when they say I am not going to let them do it. I just won’t answer the door. I am going to make them install it when it is scheduled.
That sucks Ed. When I had my HD upgrade I had the 4-8pm install. The guy called me a few days ahead to touch base. I asked him to call me on my cell that day when he was getting ready to head out. He called me that morning to let me know he was on schedule then called again that day to let me know he was EARLY. We both pulled in the driveway about the same time. I wish I still had his name to give you. The bad thing is you are dealing with contractors. Whether Dish, DirecTV or Mediacon they all are about the same.
Yes, they are contractors for sure. The place I have to call to reschedule is in Omaha!
