Direct TV Update

logo-direct-tv-lg.gifWell, I have not officially given an update on Direct TV since it was installed. When I first got it installed I was not happy with it. Cable HD was clearer to tell the truth. It has taken me some time to adjust to the Direct TV DH channels. It really is a different between the color the sharpness of Cable HD and Direct TV HD. Direct TV certainly has more channels but some of them are really compressed and don’t look that good. After a lengthy evaluation the Direct TV is better I think. Doesn’t sound too confident does it. At its best Direct TV is better. I used to notice little jaggies around the football players on cable despite the picture being really good. On Direct TV I don’t see those jaggies and it comes in much quicker.

The Discovery Channel and the Smithsonian Channel are my favorite. But it depends on the program and how much it is compressed. But I am happy. I will cancel everything other than basic cable for Ella and Noah’s room and cable internet. Well, I will cancel it if we could get through when we call!

Any who, I will post a photo or two of the setup later this week. I have the Direct TV receiver and the Toshiba HD player all setup and placed under the bar. The satellite is mounted on the roof behind the house out of anyone’s view so I am happy about that. It give me a perfect view south.

Twitter It!
