CJ, I am shooting with a Canon 10D and 85mm prime on these photos. I can't get any closer than a few feet with that lens. I would have like to shoot it less than a foot away.

Alright Ed, so how did the theme play out for you? Did you think of things, try capturing them, and scrapped the idea? Did you have a tough time? Did you think of anything after the fact? I'm glad to see you got out the tripod for these. ;)

Pegs- This is classic simple contrast, nicely done. Is it your pool table felt or something else...it seems to be a bit more reflective than your pool table. Great job though capturing 3 objects and 3 angles. 3 colors would have been interesting with two opposite colors on the surface with one standing peg in one and the two on their side in the other...hmmmmm.

Battle scene 1- There is a lot going on here, but a true battle scene I guess. I like the 3, but with the DOF was on those three and nothing else, it would have helped soften everything else going on and make the 3 stand out more I think.

Fruity drink toppers- Nice contrast in this, although I wish they were all open like the yellow one, at different angles. The sticks are too distracting I think....strange since they are so small!

Battle scene 2- I like the darker exposure and darker background, it does look like a twilight/night scene. Great angle, and the focus I like better on this one, even though it's just the one guy....he seems the most powerful and would have likely been victorious anyway!

The speaker pegs are my favorite. Good stuff man!

Hey Ed,

I'm really digging this group. The projects are challenging and fun and give me a lot to think about.

I really like your first image of the speaker pegs, the gold on red and the arrangement of the pegs makes a great photo. Good job!

I'm not too sure about the little adventure set up. There are a lot of contrasting shapes but the DOF seems to take away from the clarity of what is going on here. I think next time all the pieces in focus would be a better way to showcase these little men. Just mho.

I like the use of color in your drink umbrellas shot. But perhaps maybe you could do a little more with the linear perspective and the fullness of the umbrella without the stick part showing.

Also, I'm not sure what camera you use, you can manually switch your settings to macro by using the Tulip insignia. It's the little flower on your manual settings. :) This was fun. Good job!
