WordPress 2.7 Upgrade
I noticed that WP 2.7 was now available. I updated my creative writing/song blog without any troubles. I have to say the new interface is very nice. Lots of improvements with this version. I put a few screen shots below. If you are not using the Automatic Upgrade plugin you need to. This saves so much time and hair pulling. It is a must have. I am not sure what all the new features are yet but I know they now support Gears. It saves a lot of server content locally for faster editing. But just the look and feel is worth the upgrade. I will mess around in my creative writing blog for a while before I start upgrading client blogs and my other personal blogs. If you have any trouble upgrading or afterward let me know.

What kind of a database do you run? I see you run Apache. Do you run on Linux? Is the server at your house, or do you host it somewhere? I’ve been thinking about going with a database on my server (a Windows box in my house), but haven’t made up my mind yet.
All Apple machines at the house so that means Linux. PHP and MySQL are the way to go. MySQL runs on Windows too. I am hosting at Bluehost.com and not at my house. But I do testing off the house servers. Home is not just as reliable and as fast as a good quality host. Put MySQL on that home machine and then put WordPress on it to play around for a while.
