Work, Beer, Running, Climbing
Not much is new at The House of Husar. I just got over being sick this weekend. Loads of work still keeping me busy so not much time for anything else. Pretty boring really.
Been so busy that I did not even get a chance to mention that the Fat Tire keg went dry last Tuesday. Too busy to get another one either. No time to drink it anyway. If we have a Super Bowl party in two weeks I guess I will get one for that. But no time to enjoy it right now with so much work.
I need to get out and run more. Been terrible about doing anything active. I need a challenge to get me started/motivated. So starting tonight I am starting a 30 run challenge. Basically, set a benchmark tonight for a 5k run. Then take 28 more runs and a 30th run to improve my time. Sounds like a fun challenge to get me going and ready for Spring. If anyone wants to do the 30 run challenge with me just let me know. Remember is it 30 runs, not 30 days.
I am thinking about quitting Prairie Life for a while. Terra says we can’t join Climb Iowa and keep our Prairie Life membership. An alternative would be to join the gym at work I guess. That would make me get in a work out during the day I guess. Sounds like a plan. I think Noah wants to climb once a week instead of going out for Soccer this spring. So Climb Iowa is a possibility.
Well, that is all on my end. Need to get all this work off my back. All work and no play makes Ed very unhappy (and mean).
Twitter It!
Blogging geek Dad that loves to do long runs, ride his bikes, partake in frosty beverages, listen to live music, watch movies, hike high into the mountains, and hang out with his family doing any of the above. Oh, and write code late into the wee hours of the morning.
Climb Iowa members get an Aspen membership at a discount, too, if you needed something beyond the cardio/weights at Climb Iowa…
I would join you for a 30-run challenge, but my achilles is giving me fits again. I’ll be spending time on the bike in the meantime…
Take care of that achilles Ryan. I have a really good friend that tore his. Not pretty and a long recovery.
Don’t feel bad. I am a total slug right now. I’m about ready to enter my bi-annual get-obsessively-in-shape mode. The people at Aspen will probably think I’m like some sort of insect that only comes out from underground every 18 months and won’t go away for the next 6 months.
