Pindropr Goes Social
I have been doing a little work on Pindrop over the past month or so. I have been so busy at work I haven’t been able to make any real progress. But this weekend I made enough progress for a new release. And Pindrop are going social! For starters Pindrop has a new name. Add an “r” at the end and we have…

The biggest change is that anyone can now drop pins. That is right, you and your brother, mother, cousin and uncle can all now drop pins. Yes, you too can be a PINHEAD! Pinhead is what I call the people that help drop pins on the Pindropr map. Fitting don’t you think?
Most of my friends have a flickr account and flickr has a great feature that allows users to geotag your photos. So I thought why not integrate flickr into Pindrop. And that is how I came up with the Pindropr name. Get it. flickr, Pindropr. The “r”. Hello?
Anyway, if you have a flickr account then you are half way there. If you don’t have a flickr account then get one if you want to become a Pinhead. And I know you do. You can get a flickr account for free so no excesses.
Here is a quick recap of the changes.
- New URL http://www.pindropr.com
- flickr integration so you can easily geotag you photos
- Add and delete photos to the Pindropr map at will after you authorize your account
- Filter the Pindropr map and view each Pinheads pindrops on their own map
- Each pinhead has their own personal page showing only their pindrops
- Email any individual pindrop on the map to your friends.
As you can see there are lots of changes. There are more features coming as well. If you want to get in on the beta then just let me know. Post a comment and I will get you started with the beta.
I have a handful of people testing right now so head on over to http://www.pindropr.com and check out some of the great places all the pinheads live and have visited around the world. Ireland, Spain, Africa, Jamaica, and many more places have already been pindropped! I would love to see you photo on the Pindropr map!

Can I do this from my iPhone as well?
It is camera independent Rod. Any camera will work. As long as you get your photo to flickr then you are good to go.
