Amie Street Music Wednesday: The Nadas

The Nadas are a local band that have been around the Iowa music scene for more than 15 years. They also run Authentic Records that has been giving us some great music over the years. For this weeks ASMW I can’t think of a better way to spread some local music love than than featuring The Nadas.
With their sixth studio release titled There Are Ghosts Inside These Halls the band has put forth some of their best work. The album is 10 tracks of great music. It is a near perfect album for me if such a thing exists.
The Nadas are currently in the midst of recording a new album title Almanac. This is a year long project where the band is writing, recording, and releasing one song a month for the next year. If you join the project as a paying member you can listen to the tracks each month, watch the band record and write the songs via live streaming video, and attend a members only session in September to help write the last song on the album. Make sure you check out the Almanac website for all the details.
Below I have selected 4 songs for this week’s ASMW. All the tracks are from their There Are Ghosts Inside These Halls album. Give them a listen and let me know what you think. Each track is less than 40 cents on Amie Street so make sure you buy them all!
There are several ways to stay in touch with the band: Blog, Mailinglist, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter – Nada Almanac, Twitter – The Nadas. You can also check out a handful of other Authentic Records artists on Amie Street. And finally make sure you check out Authentic Records.
