Spring is here and it is gadget time! I picked up a Pedco UltraClap off Amazon yesterday. The UltraClamp is a window clamp but it mounts great on my bike. Handle bars, fork, seat post all work well. Combined with my Flip Ultra HD we get some sweet HD video. The UltraClamp was less than $22 so it was a real steal. I mounted it with my Flip HD and did some test rides on my mountain bike tonight. Here are a few photos of the different ways I testing it on my bike.

The clamp is metal and composite plastic. it has two ball joints so you can swivel it in just about any direction. It is very tough and tightens down rock solid.

Here is the result of some quick video testing. I am looking forward to taking this out on the trail and getting someone to follow me with the Flip mounted on the seat post facing backwards. I see some great trail video coming this summer!

  1. I like how you tried all of the different ways of mounting the camera. I will certainly look into the ultraclamp. Thanks for firing up my imagination. I have an idea for an interesting project with this now.

  2. Ideally you wouldn’t shoot that view the entire ride. Some on the fork. Then on your helmet and some behind looking back. Mix it up a little. My wife can’t watch that view at all. Gets her sick.

Going to try frame mount today for you.
