Weekend Bliss

Had a great weekend. Biked Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Spend Sunday working in the yard moving dirt and picking rocks.

Friday I had a good solo ride at Center. Trying to really push myself on the trail and doing a good job of it. This map below pretty much encompasses all the trail in the Center area that can be ridden. Maybe a few short cross sections on Hillside missing.

After riding we caught some live music downtown. The Nadas had their CD release party and put on a great show. Beth Ann, Terra and I grabbed a bite to eat then took in the show. As usually, with Beth Ann hi-jinks ensure and we were laughing our butts off for most of the show. All I can say is gum, hair, bitchy/push girls. Good times and lots of people at the show.

Saturday I took Beth Ann out on the trail after getting in a few miles on Hillside. It was her first time ever on single track. Despite having what I call a grandma bike she did pretty well. I have some backwards facing video I took with the Flip of Beth Ann that I will post later this week. For now here was the Saturday ride. As you can see I doubled back on most everything this day.

On Sunday I took Terra out on the dirt. This was also her first time on single track. She rode Noah’s bike and did really good. She really surprised me. The bike is a little small for her but she cleared almost everything she attempted. She made the big log mound first attempt close to the Denman’s entry. Pretty impressive stuff all around! I hope to get her a mountain bike in the very near future so we can ride more often. Here was our rout on Sunday. This time we parked over at the soccer fields off of Grand and rode over to Denmans avoiding Hillside and the Roller Coaster trails.

Weekly’s total was 52.43 miles over 6 days all on dirt. This week I will jump on the fixie and get in some long rides on the paved trails between the rain we might get. I am steadily dropping my winter coat of fat. My legs are feeling strong and I plan to keep the pressure on and keep pedaling.
