Great Day Today

I took a half day today to check out Noah’s track meet for school. You remember those last few weeks of school where you don’t learn much but you get to do all the fun things don’t you? That’s the mode the kids are in right now. I think they have two weeks until summer vacation.

After the meet Terra and I worked on the yard some more. We have someone coming out to grind down the stump of a tree I cut down last weekend.

Then I jumped on the mountain bike hoping Noah would want to ride with me after school. He was sun burnt after his meet and pretty tired. So I headed out what ended up being a 20 mile ride around time. Stopped by Rassy’s bikeshop, then some wet dirt trails, then paved trails back to the house. Just shy of 20 miles on the mountain bike around town.

I met up with a friendly deer along the way. Check out the photo embedded in the map below.

  1. I remember those days just before summer vacation. Twenty years later it just means that those same kids will be filling up the gym during my lunch hour. Heh. Ah well, I’m sure my kid will be going though those same days we went though soon enough!

  2. I can still remember how incredibly awesome the last few days of school were. Anticipating the start of summer was sometimes better that the actual summer.
