DirectTV New 3D Ready (photo)
Turned on my DirectTV today to watch the opening World Cup match between South Africa and Mexico this morning. I got the following message.
I really like the 3D movies I have seen lately but not sure about 3D on my TV at home. Not sold on it yet I guess. I wonder how long it will be before they are in Best Buy so I can go check them out?

Until they invent true 3-D televisions that can display high-def images and don’t require the need for glasses then count me out. Oh, and I’ll wait until at least Gen 2 is released before picking one up.
We only have one HD capable TV in our house now. And that is only a 37” in the basement. As a big of tech geek as I am that is kind of surprising it many people. The real kicker for me is that Fox Soccer on Direct TV is not capable to showing Fox Soccer in HD yet. As soon the English Premier League is hitting The House of Husar in HD then my wife can expect some begging and pleading for new TVs. Until then the one in the basement is enough.
Oh, I’m familiar with the “begging the wife” thing when it comes to getting new tech. Heh….
I just saw last night that you can get Blu-ray in 3D. Didn’t you say they can’t do 3D in high def? Maybe that was just for TV broadcasts?
