Well, I have just about everything packed. Tomorrow I will leave for Rocky Mountain National Park. Two and a half days of backpacking solo. If all goes well I should cover just short of 30 miles. I am trying to think of what else I need to bring and have that feeling like I have forgotten something. Let’s hope it is just a feeling and I have everything. What little room I do have in my backpack I am stuffing with food. I fly out of Kansas City at 7:00 AM and land in Denver about 7:20 AM. Breaking In New Boots

I picked up a pair of Hi-Tec V-Lite boots over the weekend for the backpacking trip. They are very “lite” and did not look like they would require much to break in. I took them to the gym tonight and did 20 minutes on the Stairmaster then another 20 walking in them. They felt really good and I had on cotton socks. I did have a little hot spot on the back on my left heal. I think with the proper socks and a couple more outings on the Stairmaster they will be good to go for the big hike in 2 weeks. Longs Flank Circuit

I have been researching Rock Mountain National Park to find a circuit to take for the backpackin trip. After buying the book Hiking Crcuits in Rock Mountain National Park I think I have found just the right one. The book calls it Longs Flank Circuit. The suggested path is clockwise.
