I want to be a Tough Guy

Posted by on Oct 18, 2009 in Adventure, Sports, Travel | 0 comments

I watched a documentary on The Discovery Channel today about an adventure race in England called Tough Guy. The race is well over 20 years old and you have to sign a Death Warranty to participate in it. The race doesn’t carry any insurance so you are 100% on your own if you get hurt. The Tough Guy is the first thing I have officially put on my life list of things to do before I get too old. You can check out the entire course via this link. http://www.toughguy.co.uk/?q=node/168 Each obstacle is listed on the left side. The videos on YouTube really don’t give you an idea how...

Luke, Chewy and MAX 2009

Here is a video from MAX 2009. Mark Hamill was hosting the sneak peek night so everyone was dressed up in Star Wars costumes. This is sneak peek a new feature in Flash that I really hope makes it to production in the next version. I am pretty sure it will since the vast majority for the people were pretty excited about the demo. But then again how could you not be excited by a tech presentation from a Wookie.

Adobe MAX 2009 Update

Posted by on Oct 6, 2009 in Photography, Travel | 2 comments

David Blaine was walking around here at the Adobe MAX conference I am at in LA. He was checking out all the latest technology, talking to people, and doing card tricks. He is a pretty quiet guy that spoke just above a whisper but I am sure that is part of his act to make him more mysterious. I managed to film him with my Flip doing a few card tricks. I have to say he is as impressive in person as he is on TV. I was standing right next to the guy watching his every move and I couldn’t figure out the card tricks. Here is a photo from my iPhone of man himself. Here is a pano I shot...

Polarize Dead? So Sad!

Posted by on Oct 2, 2009 in Apple, Photography, Travel | 1 comment

If I read it correctly the Polarize app I love so much on my iPhone is dead as far as any future updates. I guess the issue is with any photo apps that use a framed border. But I am no positive on this. Seems that Apple has sort of red flagged some apps. After that happens it is just about impossible to get an app past the review. If this is true that sucks. I really love taking photos with Polarize. The Polaroid style photos are featured on my blog up at the top and the Polarize app is the best of the Polaroid style bunch. I even have a site dedicated to my Polaroid photos taken with my...

Great Way to Check for Flights

I am going out to LA next week for the Adobe MAX conference. I wanted Terra to come out for a few day but it looks like that is not going to happen. In the process of looking for flights I found a great site for comparing flights for a few months at a time. You select the departure city and starting month, then a arrival city and a ending month. It creates a nice graph that shows you each day between your start and end date. You roll over the days to see the price. The site really is just a shell to search all the airline to get the cheapest and fastest flight. It works well and is...

Garden of the Gods Video #2

Posted by on Sep 26, 2009 in Adventure, Family, Travel, Vacation, Video | 0 comments

This video is a little bit more exciting with the kids climbing on the rocks. I think they could have stayed at Garden of the Gods all day bouldering and watching a few climbers scale one of the major rocks. When we the kids watched me make this video they kept saying how much fun it was.
