The Josh Davis Band Website

Posted by on Jan 12, 2008 in Design, Music, Projects, Websites | 2 comments

I have been hard at work getting The Josh Davis Band website back online. It has been down since maybe November. It has been a long time for sure. The entire thing went to hell when the someone did not renew the domain. Not me I can assure you. So the domain went up for auction. That’s right it expired and went to an auction. Josh ended up winning it back after a few weeks. When he did win it back then he setup an account on some small time hosting company. Then that small time hosting company put a 45 day no transfer freeze on it. So we had to wait for them to release it so I...

Here you have it. The new version of the layout for the blog. Been working on this for a few days off and on. I am not finished with it but I wanted to get it up and start finding what I need to fix and adjust. Color will probably change but we will see. Enjoy the new eye candy. Let me know if you find anything now working just right.

I have not given a tattoo update in a while so I thought I would update you on the latest and greatest. The date is set for Jan. 20th at the Mercy Seat down in Kansas City. Mark Galloway has been working on my drawing since I was last there. I have been thinking a lot about getting the work done and I am really looking forward to getting it started. It is nice to have some time before I go so I can really make sure I am happy with the design. After all I am not getting a little piece, I am getting a lot of work done for my first tattoo. Since I decided to get a tattoo I have not...

Tattoo Update: Mercy Seat

This weekend we went down to KC for Noah’s birthday. I had my consultation at Mercy Seat with Mark Galloway. Mark was one of the few tattoo artist I have found that I would consider doing my work. I looked at many different people all around the country from Des Moines, to Chicago, to Minneapolis, to California. In all my searching I narrowed it down to maybe 3 artists. One in Chicago, one in Minneapolis and one is KC. I selected Mark Galloway from Mercy Seat in KC. I was prepared to travel just about any place to have the work done right. So I am very happy that things worked...

Tattoo Update: Chicago?

I finally think I have found someone to do my tattoo work. Miles Maniaci works out of Deluxe Tattooing in Chicago. I am going to be out there for the Adobe MAX conference next week and plan to talk to him about my ideas. Miles does some great work and it was these handful of photos from his portfolio that caught my eye. I am really interested in getting an estimate and how many sessions he thinks my ideas will take. I will make sure to post some photos of Deluxe Tattooing while I am in Chicago back to the...

Tattoo

I have been thinking about getting my first tattoo for a while now. I have always appreciated the art of tattooing. Terra got her tattoo on her 30th birthday and she wants more. This year I turn 40 so I want to go a head and get inked. I am a little compulsive when I decide to do something so I am sure this will be no different. Over the past few weeks I have been looking all over the web for examples of what I want to do. Traditional Japanese ink and the culture in general has always interested to me so this is what I have been looking at. After the last few weeks I have been compiling...
