Home Theater Update: Amps

It took me a while but my rack is complete for the time being. I have been waiting to find a deal on Crown 202d amps and that presented itself a couple weeks ago. I was able to get an additional 3 amps to add to the one I already bought a few months ago. This was the best packing I have ever received from a eBay purchase. The best home theater I have had the opportunity of demoing was driven by the same Crown 202D amps. The theater was from a local home theater builder who was running a 6.1 system off three of the 202D amps. There is very lengthy discussion on these amps on just about...

Game of Thrones

Has anyone been watching the HBO series Game of Thrones? Absolutely incredible. Think Lord of the Rings for adults. I just watched the second episode and I am totally hooked. I am going to get the books n my iPad and start reading right away. The dire wolfs have me wonder how they are going to come into play. Very intriguing! If you have HBO and like LOTR then you must watch on HBO. Can’t wait for next week!

Fixed Century Pack List

It looks like Mother Nature is going to cooperate with me. The fixed gear century is on tomorrow. I really don’t have any business doing this right now. I am there mentally but not physically. But like most things I do it is half planned. I guess that makes it more exciting. I am rolling solo as of right now. Just me and my Swobo Sanchez. I am spreading everything out and this is the extent of my less than ultra light gear. I was hoping to avoid putting my CamelBak on for this one. I picked up a under saddle bag that is big enough for everything except the food and water that will go...

First Fixed Century this Saturday

As long as the weather holds on Saturday I am planning to do my first fixed gear century. The rain lately has really been killing any thoughts of riding so I hope the weather forcast holds true. I plan to do the Racoon River Trail up to Jefferson and back. From my house I think that is 55 miles one way. I have never gone up that far on the trail and certainly never did that kind of milage on a fixed gear bike. I would love to know the the number of pedal rotations 100 miles is for my gearing. I am sure someone could figure that out based on my gearing. For those of you that don’t...

FL Vacation Recap

I have not posted anything on our Florida vacation. I guess the delay was that I did not want to it end and the inevitable blog post means it really is over. This was our first family vacation to Florida. We have been talking about it for a few years. We only send down for 5 days but it gave us a good idea where to stay and what to do in the future. I guess it was kind of a scouting trip. Most of the time, the trouble with a family of 5 is just getting to your destination. We ended up getting tickets on Allegiant Air. They were only $69 a seat going out and $139 coming back. You...

First Mountain Biking of the Summer

Noah and I made it out to Center Trail on Tuesday. This was the first time we have rode dirt this spring/summer. The trails were in great condition and only one wet stop up on Rollercoaster. We only did a little over 6 miles on the dirt but had a great time. It is fun to see Noah progress each year. I often wonder when it will be that I can’t keep up with him. We hit hillside pretty hard and Noah did better than he ever has before. He still has not made it up the backside without stopping at least once. But that will change this year I think. With fresh legs he only had one stop...
