Today I find out that I will soon be in media server heaven. Plex has dropped their Google TV Plex app. I still don’t have the Google TV 2.0 update but it should him my machine any day now. This is brilliant to say the least. I don’t need to run any more cables or worry about resolution from my Mac Mini to a third monitor. It will soon all work right through Google TV. Christmas is coming early this year!

I can’t wait until Google TV rolls out the update to Iowa. They are releasing the udpate by state and I think I might get it today or tomorrow.

Right now all I can show you are screen shots from the Plex Blog. Expect a full review this weekend when I have the Google TV 2.0 update pushed.

I love how they made Chris Evans, who plays CA, look so scawny in the begining of the trailer. This is going to be a great summer flick!

I have update my thought on all three of these.

To create and display the catalog I am using a WordPress plugin called MyTreasures. The plugin will allow you to create a collection of just about anything. The plugin has lots of features and the ability to create custom fields. You can get more information about MyTreasures here.

Go ahead and click the link in the top navigation to see the start of my Blu-ray collection. I have 15 title so far and I’ll add more as I pick them up. I have added a field to add my own comments for each title, as well as, a rating system up to 5 stars in half star increments. There is an Amazon link on the details page for each Blu-ray. If you buy a title via the Amazon link I will get a 5% kickback. If you have comments on a particular title post them at the bottom of the page.

What does it have to do with FaceBook? Well, his kidnappers got back in touch with him on FaceBook. No joke! Geez, this social media thing is really keeping people in touch these days. Not only did they reconnect but Mark and others met them back in Columbia for a little reunion.

But in all seriousness this does look pretty intense. I really hope it make it to the US or on DVD soon. If anyone has a digital copy let me know. Can’t wait to see it.

I have picked up a Blu-ray player a couple weeks ago. Nothing real special and I am happy I did not drop $500 on one 3 years ago. I got Samsung that you can pick up at Wal-mart or Target. I don’t plan to go hog wild on the Blu-ray kick. I have been picking up a few here an there. Movies that are in my favorite list. Most of them I don’t mind watching over and over. I did get a great deal on Reservoir Dogs at Target for $8 last week. It is $10.49 on Amazon right now so I was pretty happy paying the $8 local.

A few others that I have picked up are Pitch Black, The Thin Red Line, 3:10 to Yuma, Apocalypse Now (Two-Disc Special Edition), Dark City (Director’s Cut) and Ride the Divide. I got Troy to watch with Noah since he just finished a Greek section in school. He made a point to point out all the things that were wrong. Like Achilles dying before the Trogan Horse was built. He also asked, “Is this going to be all boobies?”. That was pretty funny. Today I picked up The Corpse Bride. That is one of Ella favorite movies. We will watch that this weekend.

I can think of maybe 6-8 more that I really want. The LOTR set being one of them. But I want to wait until I have carpet in and the sound tweeked to watch them. Most likely all 3 back to back. Might need to take a day off work for that one!
