I am pretty sure we will have to put our dog Duchess down this summer. Maybe she will last until next winter but something inside me doesn’t want to do it in the winter. I can’t really say why. Winters are depressing enough without making it worse I guess.

Ella has been taking a real interest in pool lately. It is about time someone starting using the pool table for something other than to take eBay photo on!
In Des Moines Halloween is on the 30th. Don’t ask me why they do it on the 30th. It is stupid if you ask me. The good news is that the kids get two Halloweens. Terra is taking them down to Kansas City Saturday to trick or treat with friends. I am staying home to keep an eye on our 15th year old daughter who has a Halloween party.
The kids had fun despite the rain and cold here tonight. Terra sewed their costumes and did a great job. Ella’s dress was all Terra’s work. For Noah we picked up a blue shirt and bought a cap and US belt buckle. Terra put the insignias and gold buttons for Noah uniform. Ella was a vampire and Noah a zombie Union soldier. Noah and Ella both loved their makeup that I did for them. Noah’s was especially fun. I tried to make it look like a bullet entered his cheek and out his temple. Being a horror movie fan I wanted to be a Hollywood horror makeup artist when I was a kid. Maybe I missed my calling. Everyone thought it looked pretty awesome when he went around the neighborhood.

Twitter It!Terra and I were married 14 years ago today. We were married on a cruise ship in Florida just before departing the port in Miami heading to Nassau on a 4 day trip. We had about 20 of our friends and family along for the trip. Being it was October the seas were kind of rough. If I remember correctly more people were sick than not. Terra and I were not one of them.
It is hard to believe that 14 years have passed but it has. Thinking ahead to the next 14 years all of our kids will most likely be out of the house. That is strange to think about.
I am not sure where this photo was taken or when but we look pretty young to me. Here’s to the last 14 and the next.
