Little Christmas Cheer
My future brother in law picked these up for me for helping him with his website. I have yet to crack them open but I am sure I will before the weekend. The only one that I have had is the Doublewide which is about 8%. The bottles are pretty nice so I think they will end up on display in the...
Read MoreHome Theater Update: Paint on the Walls
Just a quick update for this past weekend on the home theater. A few things accomplished. - Change the stage layout. - Paint on the walls - Columns built I decided to change the stage layout. Simplified the view by removing what was going to hide the front speakers on each side of the screen. I had to do this since I want to move from a 96” screen to 110. This will be a huge difference. The only drawback is the speakers will now be visible. Not a big deal really and happy to get a bigger display. Here are a couple of photos. This shows the old stage area. This is the new area. I...

I have been putting in some time on the home theater room. This weekend we had Terra’s parents and sister and boyfriend over. Plus our friends Ted, Beth and Jason Boyd in attendance. When we get together we break out Rock Band and Scene It Move Trivia game. I wanted to have the theater in good enough shape to get Rock Band and Scene It up on the big screen. I have a temporary projector I used and mounted the movie theater seats mounted I got off eBay a few years ago. Here are the seats mounted. You can see I put up one of my bikes as art and added some mood lighting. Here is the...

This project is way over due. Finally got the walls done as best as I could. Lord knows I am not a drywaller. I did the ceiling as well in the same venetian plaster as the other rooms in the basement. I just couldn’t get the ceiling perfectly smooth at two of the seams. The plaster hides all that so it works out well for me. Only hard thing is you have to put it on with a spatial. Backbreaking work for the most part. Then it was on to putting in the floor. We pick up this floor at the same time we did the theater room floor a few months ago. I really love it. Here are a few...
Read MoreHalloweak 2010
Well, 2010 Halloween Holloweak is upon us in Iowa. The fine people of this great state celebrate the holiday of spooks, witches, transformers, and ghosts on the 30th and not the 31st. Don’t even get me started about how I feel about the 30th. It is complete rubbish. I have read that people think it is safer for kids to be out on the 30th than the 31st. We live in the capital city were we never have to lock our doors. I am not sure what “safer” means but we make the best of it living in the state or corn and farms. Oh well, what can a dreamer do other than smile, nod their...
Read More15 Year Anniversary
Today is our 15 year anniversary. Hard to believe that is has been that long since we were married. I am heading to Los Angeles for work next week and taking Terra with me. We are heading out on Saturday and going to enjoy CA a little before my conference starts. In-laws will be at the house with the kids and dogs. I am looking forward to showing Terra around the City of Angels and just hanging out. You can expect lots of photos and updates from California. This photo is from college at our friends Randy and Jill’s house down in KC. We both look so young! In another 15 years we...
