Another day, another bike ride, another video
Do you see a pattern developing here? My son and I took a ride around the neighborhood today on our old tandem. This movie was created entirely on my iPhone using Vintage Movie Maker. No post process...

I have been using an app called Vintage Video the past few weeks. Nice app for $1.99. This app is turning out to really be something special as far as iPhone apps go. Basically the app apply filters to a make your iPhone videos look like old film or several other effects. There is Black & White, 20′s Movie, 60′s Home Video, Sepia, Sepia Vintage and None. You can also add music to your apps and it comes with a few tracks or you can load your own. You splice and edit individual videos together which is not something you can do on the iPhone with the standard iPhone...

Sunday I took the Flip out with me on the trail trying to mount it to the front fork and handle bars. In both cases it came loose far too often. I was hoping to get some sample video from that ride but after looking at the footage it was too jumping. I trashed it all and started thinking of how I could MacGyver the Flip to the front fork better. After some thought, Monday night I rigged up a ghetto mount out of some metal braces and furniture rubber feet floor protectors. Oh and no less than 5 zip ties. It is not very portable since I have to cut the zip ties to get it on and off each...

Spring is here and it is gadget time! I picked up a Pedco UltraClap off Amazon yesterday. The UltraClamp is a window clamp but it mounts great on my bike. Handle bars, fork, seat post all work well. Combined with my Flip Ultra HD we get some sweet HD video. The UltraClamp was less than $22 so it was a real steal. I mounted it with my Flip HD and did some test rides on my mountain bike tonight. Here are a few photos of the different ways I testing it on my bike. The clamp is metal and composite plastic. it has two ball joints so you can swivel it in just about any direction. It...

I love my iPhone but AT&T is terrible. First chance of another carrier supporting the iPhone and we will switch. You can’t keep a connection in our house while you walk around. Calls drop constantly. It sucks. No ifs, ands or butts about it. Tonight while searching around the web reading other bitch about the mini towers that AT&T offers for people like us I found a very cool iPhone called Line2. Line2 can make calls where AT&T’s signal is weak, like indoors. It can turn an iPod Touch into a full-blown cellphone! There is also a Blackberry version. Line2 gives...

I wanted to pick up one of these on Black Friday but did not want to get up a 4:00 AM to wait in a line at Office Max. Call me lazy I guess. But we lucked out anyway. A friend of ours in KC did manage to get one on Black Friday. Then her brother bought her a Dell netbook. So being the good friend she is offered it to us at the same low 199.00 price she paid for it. Score! When I opened the box today I was not expecting much. I have seen the Acer Aspire on display at Best Buy but I couldn’t pick it up to see how it felt. After opening our new unit and playing with it a little I have...
