Weekend Bliss
Had a great weekend. Biked Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Spend Sunday working in the yard moving dirt and picking rocks. Friday I had a good solo ride at Center. Trying to really push myself on the trail and doing a good job of it. This map below pretty much encompasses all the trail in the Center area that can be ridden. Maybe a few short cross sections on Hillside missing. After riding we caught some live music downtown. The Nadas had their CD release party and put on a great show. Sunday I took the Flip out with me on the trail trying to mount it to the front fork and handle bars. In both cases it came loose far too often. I was hoping to get some sample video from that ride but after looking at the footage it was too jumping. I trashed it all and started thinking of how I could MacGyver the Flip to the front fork better. After some thought, Monday night I rigged up a ghetto mount out of some metal braces and furniture rubber feet floor protectors. Oh and no less than 5 zip ties. What a weekend! I put in an egress window with my Father in-law and it was a ton of work. It is going to be a week before my body recovers. I will post photos, video and more details about this experience tonight. Pretty sure I am won’t be doing that home improvement job any time soon. Other than the window install I was able to get in a Sunday night single track ride at Center trail. Even though my body was hurting and I was really tired I had to get out. I jumped on the Single Speed after work tonight. After Sunday’s race and festivities I wanted to just get on my bike and just ride. I really had no idea where I wanted to go so I just started riding. When I started out it was raining. I got a few good lessons on riding my single speed in the rain. I only have a front brake. That was fun! About a third of the way into my ride my tension arm started acting up. It was getting worse and I had to stop twice to try and adjust it.
