Amie St. Music Wednesday Every week I search Amie Street and don’t really find any good Alt-Country stuff I really like. Today I found one! So here we go. This weeks track comes from 50 Cent Haircut. You can check them out on the web at http://www.50centhaircut.com/. Here is what their website says about them…. Listening to 50 cent Haircut is like visiting a new place which somehow feels like a homecoming. Classic and richly toned tube and slide guitars, whisky soaked vocals, and timeless melodies stick in your craw for days and days. Like Hank Williams slapping The Beatles...

Amie St. Music Wednesday For today’s ASMW track I selected The National and their jam called Mistaken For Strangers. I like this track the best from their Boxer album. A part of the lyrics struck out at me. They go like this… You get mistaken for strangers by your own friends when you pass them at night under the silvery, silvery citibank lights arm in arm in arm and eyes and eyes glazing under oh you wouldn?t want an angel watching over surprise, surprise they wouldn’t wannna watch another uninnocent, elegant fall into the unmagnificent lives of adults You can check...

After a little looking around the web I did find a track list with the...

Amie St. Music Wednesday I picked today’s ASMW jam on the way I am feeling today. I am home sick with Strep Throat. This is one of the first times I have been sick this year so I feel pretty lucky. But for today we have Tapes & Tapes and their song In Houston. Tapes ‘n Tapes is an indie rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. You can check out their website at http://www.tapesntapes.com/ . They have a good sound and I like most all the songs off their new album. Make sure you give Manitoba and 10 Dollar Ascots a good listen. They are in full tour mode right now...

Amie St. Music Wednesday This is the start of my weekly feature called Amie Street Music Wednesday. Each week I will plug a band from the Amie Street website. If you are not familiar with Amie street and you are a music fan then you need to check them out. They have a pretty unique model for business. Basically band post their DMR free tracks and the price starts out as free. The more the music is download the more the price goes up. The price caps out at 98 cents. Amie Street gives their artist 70% of the sales and they never ask for any right or ownership of the music. For fans...
