First Run!

Posted by on Dec 4, 2006 in General | 1 comment

Today I did my first run and upload to the Nike+ site. We are in a challenge to see who can run the most miles in the month of December. It is my buddy Rod, Sergio and Randy. Randy is an avid runner and should kick all our butts but right now he is in third. Here is a quick screenshot from the Nike+ website as of today. I have been a little down with a cold that I got over the weekend. I thought I would just try and run it out of me and get to the gym tonight. I went a head and set my ipod to run for 60 minutes. I felt pretty good starting with 10 minutes on the track then getting on...

Black Friday

Well, Black Friday is just about over as far as the shopping goes. All the good deals have been gobbled up by the hungry shoppers. I did not make it up to brave the crowds but my wife did. She went to BestBuy about 4:15 AM and was still not early enough to get everything we wanted. One of the items on our list was a new monitor for the Apple G5. This bad boy is 22” and looks pretty good. To give you some comparison of the size here is Ella modeling it for you. At under 200 bones this as a steal. I might have tried to get another had I went with my wife. She picked up a few other...

Marware Has Arrived!

Today my Marware sensor holder came. It is small and just the right size to fit the Nike iPod sensor. I am looking forward to giving it a try on Thanksgiving. Here is a photo with the sensor next to it. I started challenge for December for the most miles in the month. We have four people so far. Two from work here in Des Moines and another buddy from Kansas City. The KC buddy runs 6 miles a day, every day, so we have no hope to keep up with him. It should still be...

xBox 360

Posted by on Nov 20, 2006 in General | 0 comments

November 1st we made the jump from the xBox to the xBox 360. I modded my generation one xBox and it was great for using it like a true media center. Streaming MP3s, internet radio, movies, music videos, just about everything you could ever want. But with the xBox 360 out and my son’s birthday it was time to upgrade. So we now have the 360 and it is very nice but I miss all the old features of the modded generation one. I was not very happen when I found out that the xBox 360 had to have Windows Media PC running to stream music and video. That stinks. I am not going out to buy a new...

Today I picked up the Nike+iPod Sports Kit. I have few buddies at work that use them to track their running. Now I can challenge them to a monthly mileage race. I will see if they want to see who can put on the most miles before Christmas. If nothing else it will give me some thing to shoot for. I always do much better when some kind of goal is set or I am competing against someone else. And if there is technology involved it makes it that much better. I am looking forward to start using it but I have to wait untiil I get Marware’s little pocket for it. If you run with one of...
