Banner Lakes – Kicking Arse and Taking Name
No I was not doing the kicking and taking name. Banned took my name and kicked my arse tonight. I went out after work and jumped on the mountain bike for my first ride on the new trails at Iowa’s newest state park. Boy oh boy I was working hard trying to make it up those hills and negotiation the twists and turns. I actually felt sick afterward in the parking lot. I was a little bloody as well. I finally made it out a Banner trail building day last Saturday. There is still minor things to do but the trail is just about ready for its first Mountain Bike race The Summerset Shootout. Noah and I were out there killing all the poison ivy and spraying some of the other stuff along the trail’s edge. I have walked and worked on these trails last year. But this year walking them I have to say I got pretty excited to ride them in the hear future. All the ridge line riding is going to be very cool.
