Wednesday, November 26th, 2008Took the tap system apart and tried to clean my lines. After looking at them I decided to just buy new ones. After work I went down to Midwest Brew Supply and picked up new hoses. Then swung over to the scuba shop to get gas. Then hit up Hyvee to get a keg of Boulsvard Pale Ale. Everything is hooked up and the brew is flowing again. Just in time for Thanksgiving company.
Rob and I will drink the Pale Ale but Father In-law needs the cheap beer so I stocked up on that. BethAnn if you read this I drank all your beer you left here last week. 
I still need to pick up a few thing but The House of Husar is open for business.

Twitter It!Basement Pub Updates
Tuesday, February 12th, 2008I picked up some new speaker for the basement a few weeks ago. I have been so busy that I have not had a chance to put them in. I never had surround down in the pub so I pick up a Sony center and a set of front speakers to replace my Bose I have down there now. I still have my two rear speakers in place. Those are Sony as well. I am not a Sony fan at all but the price was right for what I needed. Here is a photo of the two front and center channel.
I guess I did not pay attention to their size when I bought them from Amazon. They are bigger than I wanted but I guess they will do for now. When I get HD upstairs then I guess I can move them up to the living room. Here are the surround speakers I have in place now. They do a pretty good job for the price.
Right now the rear left speaker is not all the way to the far left of the back room so I plan to move that. When I get all the speakers place I will get some more photos up.
I have also done a little more design in the basement. Hanging things up here an there. I did this for the Super Bowl party. Here are two photos of the Killian’s sign I moved and a photo of the back wall that you back is to when you are sitting on the long part of the bar.
If you look at the last photo there you will see a big Guinness banner. It has a big open space to write on. I would love to get my buddy Carter over here to free hand a drawing on that. Carter is a super talented artist and can draw his butt off. Jason could probably do a good job as well but you can’t get that guy out of the house these days even if the house of burning down. Well I guess to get him over to The House of Husar anyway.

Saturday night we watched the fight in HD. It was not the best HD picture since they compress it a lot but it was not too bad. The sound did cut out a few times but for the most part it was great. The slow motion was pretty incredible when they showed it. Ryan, Carter, BethAnn, Lili and Justin all stopped by and we had a few from the freshly tapped Fat Tire keg. Boy is it good coming out of the keg.
Hatton put on a good show but Mayweather was just too much in the last few rounds. I sure hope they have a rematch but this time in England. Thanks to everyone that showed up. We will have to do a Super Bowl night next.

Amazon had a deal last week. A Toshiba HD-A3 and 10 HD-DVDs. Now 10 HD-DVDs would cost a minimum of $200 so when the final price was $197.21 delivered to my door with two day shipping I could not resist myself much to Terra’s dismay.
