I found the Let it Ride Ride Ride tonight. Two guys (Steven from San Francisco and Peteris from Latvia) are riding their bikes from Stockholm, Sweden to Barcelona, Spain. About 2700 miles fixed gear. Here is their first video. Trailer from Let It Ride Ride Ride on...

Here is what I managed to do yesterday on my single speed. I tracked the entire trip on my iPhone using the MotionX GPS app. I just started using this app and ordered a bike mount for it yesterday. More on the app in a later post. I also managed to snap a few pics with my iPhone along the way. I used Google Earth to combine the GPS rout and the photos. All the photos are around the downtown area so zoom into the map to see where I took them. Click the camera icons on the map to see the photos. I have never liked riding a road bike. Dirt is just too much fun. Some how a single speed makes...

I am going to attempt a 30 mile bike ride tonight on my single speed. Never gone that far before. Checkout the map below of the projected path. Start and end at the little house icon. Red path is stage 1, green is stage 2, and purple is stage 3. This takes me from the west side all the way downtown and back. I figured out a path that did not track back on itself. I am trying to stay on the paved paths around town as much as possible. I marked this out on Google Maps by hand and it comes to 26.92 miles. Hope in the final tally puts me at 30 miles. Barring any mechanical issues (which are...

I jumped on the Single Speed after work tonight. After Sunday’s race and festivities I wanted to just get on my bike and just ride. I really had no idea where I wanted to go so I just started riding. When I started out it was raining. I got a few good lessons on riding my single speed in the rain. I only have a front brake. That was fun! About a third of the way into my ride my tension arm started acting up. It was getting worse and I had to stop twice to try and adjust it. I never did get it adjusted just right and got pissed off after the second adjustment. Up until today my...
