Testing Flash Video
Ok, at lunch today I did a conversion to FLV on the videos from riding yesterday. Much better quality but I still think I can get it even better. Compare this one with the one below I posted to YouTube. The is obviously much bigger on the display size. If I put the YouTube version at this size it would would be just terrible. This was converted at 640 x 480 but I am displaying it at 480 x 360. I think if I just convert to my display size of 480 x 360 it will clean up some more. This size is a little over 30MB. I wonder how big I can go and not have any significant load...

I rode yesterday and managed to get a bunch of video. I sure wish I could get a video up on YouTube without so much compressions. This video looks great until YouTube compresses the hell of out of it and it looks like crap. Anyway, here are only 5 minutes of almost an hour of video I managed to grab. I really need to get someone rolling in front of me to make these more entertaining. But then I would have to find someone slow and old like myself. I was hoping to get the J11 trail but I ran out of battery life before I go that far. I may have to upload the full quicktime to my blog and...

I rode Center Trail tonight after work. I went much sooner than I was planning since the forecast was for some rain tonight. I rode to Rassy’s and parked then rode over to the trail. Rode for about 90 minutes for an out and back on Denmans. I did a lot of stopping to take photos along with way but rode back most of the way at full throttle. The trails are in great condition. Here are a handful of photos from today’s ride. If clicking the thumb photos below doesn’t work then view them in the full gallery at ...

The DD07 was on Saturday. This was my first official mt. bike race at the ripe old age of 39. I really did not know what to expect on my ability to ride, run, ride for a total of 17 miles. The course (Center Trail) was familiar so I had that going for me. I was doing the entire race solo since I am hard core like that. Just kidding, but I wanted to experience the entire thing on my own and not do the race with a partner. We started off with a La Mans style start. We put our bikes down and ran a little to thin out the heard. But it did not really thin anything. Getting back to the bikes...

Wow, what a busy weekend. Saturday morning I went out to the Banner trails for the second work day this fall. We made great progress on the trails up to the bridge. I would say they are ridable and could use some tread on them. It is going to be some tasty riding out there when it is all said and done. I took Noah out with me and he had a blast working on the trails. But he mostly ran around building traps and scouting out the woods. When we were all done he said, “I could do this every weekend”. Here are a few photos that Justin took. Saturday night was the Spooky Woods...
