Summerset Shootout Photos
What an event the Summerset Shootout turned out to be. There were more than 80 riders and a great turn out of volunteers. I was on the fence about racing. Having helped build the trails I knew how hard they were. Never having done them at race pace I knew it was gong to hurt. And hurt it did! I have only raced one other time at the Dirty Du two years ago. In the end I decided to race so I put in for Category 3. Glad I did. My old bones came in forth and was 13 seconds off the third place. May 31st is the Summerset Shootout at Banner Lakes. This is going to be one hell of a mountain bike race! A lot of people have put in many hours to build these trails. Over 4 miles of incredible riding. They are by far the hardest and funnest that I have ridden in Iowa. We just finished the map yesterday and I think it turned out great.
