Polaroid 3×3 Project
Welcome to my Polaroids 3×3 project page.A few years ago I started shooting digital polaroids when I got my first iPhone. The iPhone 3G had a camera that was not exactly up to par with other camera on some of the high end smart phones. Shoot polaroids was a way to compensate for the camera. After all polaroids are suppose to be mediocre image quality. It is one of the reasons polaroids have developed a sort of cult following. As I upgraded my iPhone to a 3gs then the iPhone 4 I continued creating polaroids off and on. I saved them all on my Flickr account and often go back and look at them from time to time. I almost entirely used the Polarize app to do them before getting my iPhone 4. Sadly the Polarize app has run its course and no future updates are planned. I have been looking for a new app since upgrading to the iPhone 3 to handle the polaroid duty with little luck.
Recently I bought a new photo app called Camera+ and it happens to have some great effects and a polaroid frame. I suddenly got interests in creating digital polaroids again. In July of 2010 I decided to start a weekly feature on my blog and post 9 polaroids each week with a some details about what I shot. The Polaroids might be grunged up a bit, scratchy, blurry, and faded coloring. This is by design and not a limitation of the new iPhone 4 camera.
Below you can navigate through past polaroids but keep an eye on the blog posts each week for details about what I shot that week. Use the next and previous links below to navigate through the thumbnails. Click a thumbnail to see a larger version. I hope you enjoy the gallery and please check the blog each week for a new set of 3×3 polaroids.
